Emergence

Size: 29" x 12" x 14"
$550
Artist Statement:
My "Emergence" consists of natural materials: handmade paper from Kozo fibers, thyme leaves and willow. I work alone in the studio, gather materials and process them on my own. This work was created in 2019 but due to show cancellations, it has not yet been exhibited. The title is derived from my own "emergence" out of isolation to enter shows albeit digitally.
I choose to work in handmade paper and willow because I enjoy manipulating the materials and watching how different lighting reveals subtle textures and shapes in the paper and shadows from the willow. Through the images I have submitted, I hope to share this experience and the environment where I live and work.
