Artist Statement:
“in the time of…” is cobbled together from recycled paper made in my home studio, abaca scraps carefully stored in my fridge from my time in the Dieu Donné Community Studio and organic matter from the garden. It speaks of this present moment when options are limited and life is made up of fragments salvaged from the before times mixed with new solutions for living.

Biography

Nina Meledandri is a painter and a photographer living in Brooklyn NY. As a painter she shows extensively throughout the NY area and was represented by the David Findlay Gallery in NY where she had 2 solo shows. As a photographer she has been published by the NY Times Magazine, Architectural Digest, New York Magazine and the Village Voice among others. In recent years her focus has been on mixed media work using handmade paper that she often embeds with organic matter.
