we always get 'round to how to make the piece just so
Media: Net of cotton and abaca handmade papers, plywood with paint, pink foam board with cotton and abaca paper, wire, 2018
Size: 3' x 4' x 1'
Artist Statement:
A paper net of cotton blowouts and abaca connectors drapes between 2 disparate objects. On the left, the net emerges out of a piece of shaped and painted wood that anchors the piece. It then ensnares the paper wrapped foam shapes at the right. However much the work is influenced by these strange times, we are still obliged to compose as we did before.
Biography
Our collaboration is indivisible. We make paper objects together, and together, we compose with them and other materials such as foam, wire, fabric and wood to make sculptures.
