Pat Owens
Untamed
Media: Pigmented pulp, flax tow
Statement:
The nucleus of my work often circumvents reality where people and objects are juxtaposed to create their own story. The artwork comes to life with texture and color defining their emotions for the viewer.
Dressed Up
Media: Pigmented cotton pulp, flax tow
Statement:
This work is the result of walks in nearby parks observing nature and people. This comes together intuitively as the artwork directs and speaks for itself. I work in cotton pulp which I pigment and press in molds that I have created. I include threads and sometimes floor scraps.
Home
Media: Pigmented cotton pulp, flax tow
Statement:
People and animals often come together in my work. This piece reflects the experience of my days in the park. I pigment cotton pulp and press this into plaster molds which I have designed and created.
