Statement:
This book references creativity and the spirit of play in our relationships. The text is inspired by a day that my nieces filled a dry erase markerboard with their description of the joyful sounds of the process.

Statement:
I am fascinated by the way we constantly adapt to change and are continually reconfigured by our experiences and influences from the world around us. This book speaks to relationships affected by world events and hope for peace. The book references processes of quilting, embroidery and mending for community healing.
Biography
Naomi S. Velasquez is an award winning textile and book artist. Naomi holds an M.F.A. from the University of North Texas in Studio Art, Fibers. Naomi is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Art at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho; coordinating the Fiber Media/ Papermaking areas.
