Sewn and Patched
Media: Screenprint and letterpress on handmade paper and Arches 88
Statement:
Language and image are both part of my work.
Because I often deal with the darker side of social issues, I am partial to pop culture imagery, and bright colors. I want the viewer to find meaning for themselves, whether in agreement or opposition.
Remembering My Friend
Media: Letterpress and photoengraving on handmade paper and wood veneer
Statement:
After a good friend passed away in the early months of the pandemic, I thought the best way to remember her was with handmade paper, which she once taught in Cortona, Italy and by incorporating wood veneer, which was usually an element that snuck its way into her prints.
Heart Path
Media: Letterpress and photoengraving on handmade paper
Statement:
The paper for this project was made from the cotton clothing donated by racial and sexual minorities. The arc was created in Indesign and emailed to the photoengraver.
