Media: Watermarked handmade paper
Size: 10" x 8" x .05 cm
Artist Statement:
As an artist, I work in a state of isolation, not unlike what is happening during this Covid experience. Life reflects a questioning process that allows me to extend and refine what I am passionate about doing. I strongly feel that Fine Art Photography can extend into Handmade watermarked papermaking. I believe that with more work, I can see contemporary photography becoming part of paper watermarks.
Biography
I got my first FULL time Photography job when i was 14 years old. Even in the beginning of my photographic studies, I have contiually worked to extend photography into other mediums. I was a Journeyman color lithographer in many realms of the industry that do not exist any longer. I have always made and formulated my own light sensitive emulsions, although in the case of watermarked papermaking, there is nothing but the cotton paper forming the watermark. I recieved my BA in Liberal Studies from Cal Poly Pomona CA, and was accepted to do my MA in fine art at Claremont College CA in 1993, but chose to take a more independent self taught study route.
